The Best Laid Plans of Seamen
Today I went to see The Best Laid Plans Of Seamen the senior actors company project. It was a great show that revolved around the idea and work and ocean. In the play a plane crashes in to the Pacific ocean where these insurance business salesmen are unable to deal with this situation and hold tight to the only thing they know how to do their job. The men are than lured in by the magical voice of a Siren/Mermaid that drive them to complete bliss ,and end up killing their boss to find this alluring voice. In my interview with Glenna Grant a senior actress at Suny Purchase College we discuss the costumes of the play revolving around business attire and how the glasses frames became their marketing scheme of the show.

Yes, SealPelts
SealPelts are the new Snuggie, or Slanket. This onesie style blanket is based off a Icelandic myth that seals can leave their pelts and become human. What ever inspired the Seal =Pelt is great but you actually look more like a penguin in it... It is made out of 100% Icelandic wool, and comes in nine different color combinations. I'm not sure how well this will catch on ,but they look 10 times more comfy than the Snuggie and Slanket combined. Although they look great the Danish designer of the SealPelt Henrik Vibskov is charging $399 a SealPelt. I wonder if actual Seal Pelts cost that much.... It is a great alternative to clubbing seals though!

Hooker Boots are IN!
Yes Ladies, hooker boots are one of the fall fashion trends. Various designers decided to envougure the "Pretty Woman" style into their collections. Nows the time to run to the one of the fetish shops in the village and buy up those thigh high boots because soon the department stores will be selling them for 10x that.

Shoulder Pads???
Yes, a huge trend from Paris fashion week was...(sigh)...Shouder Pads. I know, when I would go to steal my mom's old clothes the first thing I would do is rip out the shoulder pads. Maybe now you won't have to. Just about every designer had distinct shoulder piece look from Nina Ricci to Donna Karen ( which had a very 80's power woman vibe). I never thought I would see the day when shoulder pads would be back. But, Shoulder's are in ladies so start padding up those old blazer's...maybe not ,but next time try not to dismiss them like I did.

McQueen's Fall 2009
Ok, so wow his fall collection is like if Beetlejuice and the BiPolar guy from The Cell had a baby this would be it. Looks like those ladies walked straight out of a mental institution and I loved it. He has some really ornate dresses which are staying in some of the trends that we've been seeing this year with the fabric layered look with big volume. My favorite part is the makeup and hair/headpieces. White pale faces with big clown lips! oh and if you want to stay true to the McQueen look you have to get rid of those eyebrows.
